Call for Papers

2023 Annual Meeting

November 19-21, 2023

You are encouraged to submit a proposal to present original research findings at the 2023 meeting of the Southern Risk & Insurance Association (SRIA). Papers on any risk or insurance related topic are welcome. Specific subject areas include, but are not limited to, insurance law or regulation, public policy, economics, finance, health care, international issues, employee benefits, retirement, or risk management. Papers addressing pedagogical topics relevant for the teaching of risk management and insurance are also encouraged for submission.

Please submit an executive summary (not exceeding three pages) that describes the purpose, expected results, and importance of the research (completed, full papers may also be submitted). The names and affiliations of all co-authors, with the telephone number and e-mail address of the designated contact person, should be provided on a separate cover page attached to the proposal. Please include three keywords on your executive summary to assist in the appropriate session
placement of your paper.

Proposals/papers from doctoral students are encouraged. Please clearly label submissions from doctoral students. Doctoral students that have papers accepted for presentation at the meeting will be invited to submit a full paper for the “Harris Schlesinger Memorial Doctoral Research Award.”

The deadline for submission is Friday, August 18th, 2023. This deadline will not be extended. Submitting authors will be notified of the outcome of their submissions via email within four weeks of the submission deadline.

In order to stay on the program, at least one author of the accepted paper must register for the meeting by no later than October 13, 2023.
